Waxing into 2014...

Dec 20 2013

It's 5 days until Christmas, and all I can think about is next year!  Well, that's not entirely true, I am excited for Christmas...

But 2014 is going to be a GREAT year.  You heard it here first.  I've got a great family:  a guy who still makes me laugh, a kittycat approaching 16 who still looks like a kitten, and 2 silly doodles that make my heart swell with love.

I'm especially excited about the opportunity to have my first solo show!  January and February at Northwest Encaustic Studio, 7150 44th Ave SW West Seattle. Swarm, Decline of the Honeybee is dear to my heart.  I'll be braving the pass to get to both artist receptions, Jan 9 and Feb 13, 6-9pm.  Shoot me a message if you'd like the invitation.  Oh wait, I have 4 followers... ;)

March has me teaching at the Walla Walla Community College, Encaustic 101!!  If the class fills and it's well received, look for Encaustic 201 in the near future!  I am loving this teaching thing, probably because I have had such amazing instructors myself.  Then at the end of March I suppose I will be attending and selling at Best of the NW Art and Fine Craft Show, though I have to get my application/call to artist in!  April there's a chance to learn more as I take a class in Portland with Lisa Pressman, that should be fantastic, followed by Art Under the Elms again in Lewiston...got to get that one in, too.  I do procrastinate.  I still have to get Christmas cards done.

May should be the best, but I'll save that for another post.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!  See you in the new year...
